Rachel Schoutsen is a Canadian broadcaster & a weather and traffic reporter. Since January 2023, Rachel holds the position of Weekend Morning Show Host on The Weather Network.
More than just a pretty face, Rachel has a strong work ethic and had her sight on reporting since she was a little girl.

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :

Schousten was born in Canada and has a fraternal twin brother. Rachel’s dad’s side of the family is from the Netherlands.
She has previously stated in an interview that her first choice with regards to picking a school for her children would definitely be a Catholic school. This is largely due to her religious beliefs and her love for the institutions’ work ethic and mentorship.

Rachel got married to her long-time boyfriend, Daniel Price Owens, on December 31, 2019. The wedding venue was the St. Peter’s Anglican Erindale church, located in Mississauga, ON. The honeymoon we had in Curacao was a week of pure joy!
Daniel and Rachel had first met when they both landed at the same bar in Christmas of 2011. He was in the military and was stationed in Edmonton at that time.
On September 30, 2021, Rachel Schoutsen announced the birth of her first child – baby daughter, Emma Elizabeth. She received warm wishes and compliments on her daughter’s birth from her well-wishers.

After graduating from Father Michael Goetz Secondary School, Rachel attended Wilfrid Laurier University from 2009 to 2013, from where she graduated with honors and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. She also has a degree in Videography from Conestoga College.
Taking part in the Theatre Program at her former high school helped Schoutsen gain the confidence she needed to pursue a career in broadcasting.

While studying at Laurier, one of her professors, Sue Ferguson, stepped up as a mentor and gave her useful advice about how to succeed in her career by taking advantage of internships. Rachel took said advice and began interning at Rogers TV Brantford, gaining valuable work experience that was key in getting the job of her dreams.

After spending her college years interning at Rogers TV Brantford, Rachel moved to “Beat the Traffic,” where she worked as a gridlock specialist and traffic presenter.

Currently, she works as a weather broadcast and traffic reporter for The Weather Network in addition to providing regular weather updates as part of the News Network on CBS.
Rachel has been working for The Weather Network since 2011 and made the transition from news writer to on-screen broadcaster within a short time at the network.
Rachel has talked extensively about her love for broadcasting as well as reporting on the weather. When asked what she loved about the weather, she quoted I love how weather surrounds many Canadians’ conversations. We all feel the need to comment on the bitter cold…Weather gives us a platform to connect with people.

Rachel operates a personal blog that is dedicated to various topics such as her dog, food and exercise, and wellness. It is a lifestyle blog where she posts recipes, career highlights & many pictures of her lovely pet dog, Rainbow. Rainbow turned 15 in July 2017 and passed away in early 2018. She now has an Instagram handle for her another pet Sunny – @SunnyTheTinyPoodle
She loves to travel and has been to places such as Mykonos, Malta and the Grand Canyon.

A big fan of running, Schousten has run well over 15 semi and full-marathons. In the 2018 Mississauga Marathon, she completed one of her big dreams of completing a sub-4-hour marathon. In October 2022, Rachael ran her 21st race at the Oakville Half Marathon. She had a special moment during the race as her own baby cheered her and she finished in under 2 hours.
Schoutsen’s fourth-grade teacher used to call her Oprah Winfrey because she was always very talkative in class and could never seem to quiet down. The nickname is what she claims spawned her love for television and being in front of the camera. Even her family members can attest to the fact that she has always had her mind set on becoming a TV reporter.

You seriously need to calm down and stop throwing your arms and hands out. You come across as 15yr old newbie. Maybe you should do like Nadine Powell…lower key minimum movement but it comes across very professional!!!
