In 2008, Marissa began her career as an outreach representative for Current TV. Her work involved attending media conventions, present website content & coordinating events.
Next, she landed a job at KOMU-TV (Columbia, Missouri), affiliated to NBC. Here, she worked as a reporter/anchor (Jan 2009 to June 2011).

From July 2011 to August 2014, she was employed as a morning anchor for WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky.
Currently, she is the evening news anchor, as well as an investigative journalist for NewsPress & Gazette Company (Columbia). She has been with them since September 2014.
