- Lisa was born in Wichita but was raised in Haysville, Kansas. An old 2014 interview mentioned that she resides in Olathe with her husband and 3 dogs.
- When she was a kid, tornados hit their home several times & with time, she got accustomed to tornados’ rescue sirens be familiar with them.
- When she was 15 years old, Lisa got the opportunity to meet Dave Freeman & he told him that she could consider meteorology for a living. Dave became her mentor, and she acknowledges that were it not for him, she would not have made it this far in her career.

- Lisa began her meteorology career way back in 1996 when she started her internship at KSN-TV under Dave Freeman.
- Afterwards, she worked as a meteorologist and reporter in Huntington and Baltimore.
- In April 2007, Lisa went into work with KMBC Channel 9 as a meteorologist and reporter for a period of seven years before leaving to join KCTV.
- Almost two decades later, Lisa came back to where it all started, at KSN-TV, and started reporting for the 5 p.m., 6 p.m, and 10 p.m newscast. She came in to replace Dave Freeman, who was retiring after serving the station for 24 years.

Lisa, KSN weather is my favorite. You’re right on target. But this is personal. I have texted you about your cousin Greg Teachman before. I’ve known him for about 40 years. Both his parents have passed and he is currently living in Winfield, again. He is gifted in many areas such as music, theatre, and he usually has to fix my phone or computer when I push the wrong buttons. Greg is very intelligent and has a mind like a steel trap. He still has a little of his mother in him but I am continually working on taking care of that. He needs to know he still has family. He doesn’t know I am writing this. There is a lot more I could tell you about him.
