- She graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, with a Bachelor’s degree in politics and journalism.

- Lindsay’s career began in Columbia, Missouri, where she worked as a reporter for NPR Affiliate stations. She also worked for the KOMU station as an anchor and reporter for two years.
- As her career took off, Lindsay began traveling all over the USA, reporting on several stories from tornadoes to NCAA sports events.
- She reported Hurricane Katrina from Louisiana in 2005 and went on to chase tornadoes back home in Kansas City. Lindsay was also the lead reporter during the 2008 elections.
