- Her battle with breast cancer has encouraged her to set up a personal blog called ‘Weathering Cancer.’ It is devoted to the sharing of her journey and experiences with others.
- March 24, 2017, was a day of celebration for the MacDonald family. No, the day had nothing to do with birthdays, anniversaries, or other social events. On this particular day, she said goodbye to painful chemotherapy sessions that she had been undergoing for almost a year, ever since she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Suffice to say, Kim MacDonald is a living inspiration to others with her never-say-die attitude!

I normally do not make comments but I have watched you for several years and was not aware that you had breast cancer. My stepmother is a breast cancer survivor like you. Her breast cancer was not as far advanced. I am very happy as I’m sure your family is of your positive attitude. I always thought you are pretty and a classy woman like Sandie Rinaldo for example. I am very glad you are doing better and will continue to enjoy seeing your smiling face giving us the weather forecast.

My husband and I have watched the weather channel fervently since it came in the air. And you are a favorite of ours along with Nicole and Rachel. We love you guys! You are so knowledgeable and friendly and personable (all of you!). We were devastated when we first found out you were battling cancer. But you have pulled through and like a real trooper beat the odds! We are so happy for you and your family! You are so pretty and easy to listen to!

RE Nov 30 story on daylight savings time by Kim MacDonald
FYI Peace River is in Alberta and does observe daylight savings time. The Peace River flows from B. C. into Alberta. The Peace River Liard Regional District is the B. C. portion of the area referred to as the Peace Country. This district stays on Mountain standard time year around.
