- Kelcey worked as a waitress when she was fresh out of college.
- After doing odd jobs for two years, she finally landed her first journalism job with Freedom Broadcasting (WWMT-TV) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She remained there for five years.
- In July 2003, she joined WRAL-TV as a weekend news anchor. Carlson was a fill-in for Lynda Loveland as the weekday morning news anchor in 2009 when she moved into radio.
- Carlson joined the KMSP Fox 9 news team delivering the evening bulletin in January 2014 after ten years with WRAL.
- Kelcey has received multiple awards for her quality contribution to journalism. She was awarded the 2009 Mid South Emmy for ‘Best Weekend Newscast.’
- She also has an award from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas (RTDNAC) for her coverage on the Wake County Public School System transportation department fraud case.
- She reveals that her most difficult story covered so far was the bombing at the annual Boston Marathon in 2013. She was a participant in the marathon but was not directly affected by the bomb.

- She began running after graduating from university because she couldn’t afford a gym membership.
- In order to stay in shape for her wedding, Kelcey ran her first marathon in Detroit.
- She trains her long runs every weekend with a group of friends with similar interests very early in the morning. She calls them the Vampire Running Club because often run in complete darkness.
- Carlson was the fastest woman to finish the 44th Annual Grandfather Mountain Marathon, which is regarded as one of the hardest marathons in America. Her time was 3 hours and 13 minutes. For this achievement, she was featured on the front cover of Endurance Magazine.
- She is a board member of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) Minnesota Chapter and was announced as an addition to the PCA executive board in 2016.
- Carlson is also an active swimmer and used to swim instead of running if she didn’t feel good during her pregnancy. Kelcey had run for most of her pregnancy until she was due for all of her pregnancies.

My name is Jeannette Castro, I watch Fox 9 every evening, But the reason I am messaging you is in September My husband and I went to furniture Martin Shakopee, back in September of 2020. I have called multiple times. And still haven’t given my refund back, the glider was drop off and the next day my husband brought it back because it didn’t work out for us so wanted our money back.
Vicky did not give my husband a refund receipt so he left, and when I received my bill they didn’t pay me back for the glider, and footstool we never received it but yet they charged us.
When I think about it, it makes me angry and I just wanted someone to know because my voice is not being heard. Was hoping you could help me out. All I want is my refund but they kept it.not right and they shouldn’t get by with it.
