Did you have a relative who was an amateur radio operator?
I am originally out of Chicago and have been in Florida since 1980. I became an amateur radio operator and did volunteer work. I met a fella who I believe is from Chicago with the last name Epstein. He passed away switch a number a years ago. Me and him became friends and I think he lived in Hernando or Pasco County. We used to get on the air together and talk with others that are from the Chicago area. When I have seen your last name as Epstein I got curious and thought I would ask if you are related.
