Upon completing school, Jayne studied journalism at The University of Technology Sydney. Later, she moved to Wagga Wagga to start her career as a journalist at WIN News.

After working at WIN News, Jayne joined Nine News as a political journalist in Canberra and Wollongong. Jayne Azzopardi got married to her boyfriend, Trent Butler, in Tasmania. According to her, they met over Instagram. In their case, things escalated quickly, unlike old-school romance, and they got into a relationship. Soon after 11 months of dating, Trent proposed to her, and they tied the knot.
The wedding event was a private ceremony with only friends and family of the couple in attendance. Still, Jayne deems herself fortunate that she got to live the wedding of her dreams in a beautiful location with the people she loved.
