Heather is a married woman with two sons Crew and Case, whom she loves and dotes over regularly. In an interview, she spoke about how she loves to hurry back home to spend time with her family and pets when she finishes working.

She graduated from Poway High School before moving on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism at San Diego State University (SDSU, class of 2001).
Myers met her husband Tyler Snyder as a freshman at SDSU. Tyler is a former ice hockey player and a real estate business owner. The couple celebrated 16 years of marriage on September 23, 2022. San Diego-based community leader Pastor Ray Bentley, who lost his life battle with Covid-19, was the one who had married Heather and Tyler.

After college, Myers joined NBC San Diego and worked as a writer for over 2 years from February 2000 until February 2002.
Soon after leaving NBC San Diego, she joined KYMA TV in Yuma, Arizona, as an anchor and reporter and spent over 1 and a half years at the station before leaving in October of 2003.

Heather returned to San Diego in late 2003 and started working for CBS News 8. In fact, she started just a few hours after the 2003 Cedar Fire started.
