- Erin grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Como family had moved from Richmond, VA, to Bensalem, PA, when Erin was four-years-old.
- Parents : Erin’s father David Como was a licensed clinical social worker. He was also an Administrator for Philadelphia-based Northeast Community Center for Behavioral Health. Her mother, Patricia Trautman Como, later became a Director at Head Start.
- Erin’s older sibling, Leah, is now married and is a school teacher.
- For her education, Erin attended Bensalem High School. While there, Erin was the President of her class and the anchor of the Bensalem High School television network through all four years.

- Como is dating Chris Smith, who is a senior producer at Good Day DC. The two have been dating for quite a while, and there might just be wedding bells coming soon – that is according to a podcast recording at “I Still Have a Keycard,” where they give an insight into their relationship and how they broke the news to the world.
- Chris and Erin met when a mutual colleague introduced them on the day when Erin was interviewing for the network in March 2017. At the time, Chris had a girlfriend, and Erin still lived with her ex-fiancé. In August that year, Erin officially joined the ranks of Fox 5, and she started dating Chris soon after that. At the time, Erin lived at her aunt’s place in Alexandria, and Chris traveled many miles to frequently spend time with her.
Interests and Trivia :
- When she is not working, Erin loves to travel and to participate in charity events. She has at one time been the spokesperson of an event that sought to raise Autism awareness.
- She is also actively involved in supporting St. Jude, where she has been participating for the last few years by donating funds and running the Music City Half Marathon.
- Besides this, she enjoys attending “hot” yoga classes, hiking, trying out new restaurants, cooking, and reading a good book.
- Erin has a rescued cat called ‘Little Miss’. She saw Little Miss at a pet store in Tennessee where the cat was up for adoption because her previous owner couldn’t take care of her anymore. Little Miss now happily lives with Erin in Washington DC nowadays.
- Coming from a large Italian family, Erin is very passionate about cooking. She has a special recipe for meatballs that she inherited from her father’s grandmother, Lily Sinatra. She always makes this recipe for her dad on special occasions, because they remind him of his childhood.
- Erin is very close to her family and spends time with them frequently. During the COVID19 pandemic, she has mostly kept in touch with them through Facetime.

- During her junior year, Erin started out interning at a law firm but found the world not well suited to her, so she switched to journalism.
- Her journalism journey started at WCAU-TV located in Philadelphia, where she worked as a planning assignment editor and traffic reporter.
- Erin then worked for Fox 17 in Nashville, Tennessee, as a morning traffic anchor and reporter on the show This Morning.
- She also hosted Road Trippin, a travel series where she used to review all the best travel destinations around Mid-State. This included hotels, spas, activities, and restaurants.
- Como is often also seen on cooking shows. She even has her own cooking show, Cooking with Como. She has created and re-created menus alongside the likes of Executive Chef Ryan of Salamander Resort and Spa and Chef Brad Feickert of Oz Restaurant.
- Chef Ammer Natson, who was featured on Good Day DC showed Erin how to make various Thanksgiving recipes. She even made milkshakes with Allison Finkelstein, the General Manager at Ted’s Bulletin.
- Another seasonal travel show Como hosted for Philly (dot) com highlighted all the fun you could possibly have during summer in South Jersey, from the great outdoors to delicious foods.
Dancing with the Stars :
- On October 23rd, 2014, Erin joined some local community leaders at Dancing with the Nashville Stars with her partner who was also her instructor, Stephen Bond.
- Dancing with the Nashville Stars is a fundraising event that seeks to support a hunger-relief charity that feeds the hungry in Middle Tennessee Region. Some of the local celebrities that have participated included Leah Hulan (Bail Bond Girl) & Jon Sexton; the owner of Boost FitClub.
