- Coleman took the first flight towards her dreams by commencing her career at KAIT in Jonesboro, Arkansas, from January 2002 to December 2002 as a television news reporter.
- Moving on, in December 2002, she joined WFMY News 2 in North Carolina as an anchor and reporter and worked until March 2006.
- Since 2006, she took up a job with WRAL-TV in Durham, North Carolina, with similar profiles as earlier.
- Then Erin moved to Atlanta and joined WSB-TV Channel 2 for seven long years from October of 2009 till September 2016, where she also won both an Emmy and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
