- Erika is a native of South Florida. Her interest in weather first began when Hurricane Andrew hit her hometown when she was still a young girl.
- She was so fascinated by the hurricane that she requested her father to leave a small gap on the window when he was boarding up their house so that she could get to see the storm.
- Days after, she came to see the aftermath of the storm & how it had destroyed property. At that point, she decided to study weather so that she could be in a position to warn people of such imminent disasters.
- Delgado is an alumna of Florida International University. She graduated from the university with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
- She later enrolled at Mississippi State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Meteorology, followed by a Master’s degree in Geoscience.
Career, Income, Salary and Net Worth :
- Erika began her journalism career in 2013 as a freelance meteorologist for a local news station located in Portland called WCSH.
- She then moved to Boston, where she worked as an on-air bilingual meteorologist with WSI. This job had her covering the weather in various locations across the country, such as the Northeast’s blizzards, the hurricanes of the East Coast & the droughts of the West.
- After WSI, Erika joined WTVJ, an NBC6 News affiliate, as the weekend morning meteorologist & currently she works for WSVN.
Achievements and Awards :
- While working at WTVJ, NBC 6, Erika was voted for as the ‘Favorite Weathercaster’ for Ft. Lauderdale, Miami.
- In March 2017, Delgado was presented with a Media Excellence Award by students from Columbus High School in recognition as the best weather reporter in South Florida. the CCNN Live Media Excellence Award is an annual event that is hosted by Columbus High School’s live TV network.

- Erika is an adrenaline junkie and loves to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, and she has indulged in a number of activities such as skydiving.
- She also loves dancing & is also a spinning instructor. She prides herself in being talented in multi-tasking.
- Loving to give back to the community, she often participates in various charity events organized by the local community.
- In March 2016, Erika climbed over the edge of Fort Lauderdale in an event to help raise funds for Gilda’s Club, a cancer charity and support group.
