- Donna’s first steps into the professional world of broadcasting occurred at a TV station in Battle Creek, Michigan, where she started as a promotions coordinator. She spent time in the station’s newsroom after her shifts, aiming to get experience in reporting news, until she was promoted to the newsroom. With no mentor to help her, Donna taught herself the ropes of reporting.
- After five years in Battle Creek, Donna moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she got further experience in being an anchor. She spent another five years there.
- In July 1994, Donna moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She started working for WKYC-TV as a reporter & eventually became the morning news anchor by the time she had left the station in August 2001.
- In January 2002, she returned to Michigan, becoming an evening anchor for WWJ-TV CBS ONO in Detroit, until the station axed its news department in June 2003.
- Donna was then asked by Fox16 to be the main anchor for their news channel. She moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, in 2004 & has been the evening anchor for Fox16 News ever since.
