- Kent Harrell, a station photographer, pushed Denmon to apply for a reporter position at KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, Colo. She secured the job and worked there for 18 months.
- In 1995, Debbie secured a weekend anchor and reporting job at KJRH-TV in Tulsa. While working at KJRH, she was the first reporter to arrive at the Oklahoma City Bombing site. Debbie was assigned to cover the story live for an entire week of wall-to-wall coverage. She also covered the death penalty trial of OKC Bomber, Timothy McVeigh, delivering the verdict live as a Field Anchor.
- In 1998, after her contract with KJRH expired, Debbie moved to Indianapolis’s bigger television market. At WTHR-TV, she reported on the firing of legendary Indiana University Basketball Coach Bobby Knight. She also did live reporting for all NBC affiliates. I don’t care what product that Debbie D happens to be presenting…I like watching Debbie (lol … a fellow Texan). She has such a wonderful presence and I love that sense of humor! As Yvonne Leveritt stated, Debbie Denmon has the whole package…lovely lady with intelligence and a personality to match. I always feel like I am watching a friend when I watch Debbie.
I enjoy watching Debbie. Haven’t seen her lately. Hope she is still there at HSN.
I am a big fan of Debbie Denmon. She is a beautiful black woman who has poise, a great personality, and is larger than life tv anchor and is now a wonderful host of HSN and a great person. She obviously loves her family and life. She was an asset to WFAA TV and should have had a long career there.
