Monaro was born on March 29, 1973. Born in the Bronx, she has spent most of her life living in New York City.
On March 28, 2002, her boyfriend, Sheldon Neal, popped the question during a Z100 live radio broadcast. The couple tied the knot on March 15th, 2003, one year after the proposal.

Spencer and Danielle have two sons, Spencer who was born in 2005 and Preston who was born in 2009.

Danielle attended St. John’s University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the school’s College of Professional Studies in 1995.

After graduating from St John’s University, Monaro began interning at the Z100 radio station in New York City.
She credits St John’s for sparking her love for radio after she worked at the school’s campus radio station called WSJU. During her time at the station, she got the opportunity to work as radio host and immediately fell in love with the career path.

The opportunity arose after a fellow student offered her the gig and encouraged her to take courses in radio. She learned everything there was to know about working in the radio industry while working at WSJU.
As time went by, Danielle was promoted from intern to radio host at the Z100 radio station. She eventually joined a show at the station called the “Elvis Duran and The Morning Show” where she was a co-host in New York City.
