- Cole T. Wright was born on June 4, 1978, in Joliet, Illinois. He is the only child born to Cheryl and Willie but has two half-siblings from his dad’s previous relationship – a sister named Chantel and a brother named Andre.
- On August 25, 2012, Cole married Regan (neé Smith). The couple has a 12-year-old daughter named Paisley (age as of 2024) and now reside in Redondo Beach, California.
Early Life and Education :
- At Waubonsie Valley High School, Cole was a star athlete, lettering in baseball as a first baseman and designated hitter. In 1996 — his senior year — he led his team to the state championship game.
- An aspiring professional baseball player, Cole spent two years at Waubonsee Community College. He set a Chiefs single-season record for most game-winning hits that still stand today. In a 32 game season, he had nine walk-off hits, earning him the nickname “Mr. Clutch.” A closing pitcher and a first baseman at the junior college, he posted a 1.71 ERA (6th best in school history) and a .368 batting average with a .978 fielding percentage. In 2018, he was inducted into the college’s Hall of Fame.
- After playing one season for the University of Tennessee at Martin (UT Martin), Cole transferred to Briar Cliff University in Iowa, where he again played baseball and graduated in 2003 with a degree in communications.

- Cole began his career as a weekend sports anchor for KLST-TV in Texas. After two years, he joined KETK (also in Texas), where he again worked as a sports anchor and headed coverage of high school football. Shortly after, he moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he worked at WVLA-TV and covered all Louisiana sports at every level.
- Moving back north in 2008, Cole joined New England Sports Network (NESN) based out of Boston, Massachusetts. Using his diverse experience, he served as the primary sports anchor.
- Following his stint with NESN, Cole spent 2011-2014 with ESPN, where he served as a sports anchor on a wide variety of shows. He worked on “SportsCenter,” “Baseball Tonight,” “NBA Tonight,” “College Football Goal Line,” and “College Basketball Buzzer Beater.”
- After a brief stint at Fox Sports 1 where he worked as an update anchor and fill-in host for “Fox Sports Live,” Cole joined the NFL Network in July 2015 as an on-air talent and has been with the sports media mogul ever since. Returning to his baseball roots, Cole also spent the 2018 season working for SportsNet LA as a fill-in studio host and reporter for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
