- He moved to Washington, DC after he earned his Masters and became the Senate producer for C-SPAN in 1993. He also worked at NPR and produced and anchored newscasts for them.
- He also reported for Capitol News Connection before joining Fox News in September 2007 as a senior producer for the House of Representatives.
- Chad is also the program director of “Inside Washington,” a program run by Miami University where the students are given the opportunity to meet the movers and shakers of Washington, D.C., and intern in the nation’s capital. The program focuses on topics in Political Science, Communications, and Journalism; however, it is open to undergraduates and graduate students from any major or academic division.

- Over the years, Chad has covered various events and stories like the Robert Mapplethorpe photo exhibit trial, Pete Rose’s banishment from baseball, President Clinton’s impeachment, and the Stanley Cup Finals.

- In March 2006, he was awarded the Joan Barone Award for Excellence in National Affairs / Public Broadcast Journalism by his colleagues and co-workers at the Radio-Television Correspondents Association. This is the most prestigious prize for Washington-based broadcast reporting. Chad was the first radio reporter to be honored in 12 years and was one of the youngest at the time.
- In the initial stage of his career, he received the Best Radio Reporter award by the Ohio Associated Press in 1992.

- Chad is a hockey fan and has been attending NHL games for the last 25 years. Growing up in Ohio, he didn’t have an NHL team but now supports the Caps after moving to Washington.

Hello Chad, could you tell me if your dad was Richard Pegram from Tennessee who was killed in action in 1968 as part of a special force’s operation in Vietnam near marble mountain? His wife’s name was Antonnette.
Chad, I grew up in Middletown, graduated from Monroe in 1983 and met your dad Ray around 1997. Your grandpa lived close by your folks’ place, I saw him often as my mother and stepfather moved onto Oxford Middletown Rd. In 1989.
According to your dad, our grandpa’s were cousins. I really enjoyed seeing and talking with your dad.

Chad of course is a far-left liberal democrat…assuming by watching him for many years. He really tries to be a journalist with no bias but watching him for many years we all know how he votes…lol

Hello, you have a glaring typo in your piece on Chad. We grew up in the same county and definitely had NFL teams to cheer on, the Cincinnati Bengals. I believe you meant to write there were no NHL teams in the region, as you wrote that Chad is an avid hockey fan. Also, note that we did have the Cincinnati Stingers NHL team in our early years growing up.
