Cayleigh Griffin is an American reporter. Currently, she is the AT&T SportsNet Southwest courtside reporter for the Houston Rockets basketball team.
Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- Cayleigh was born on October 22, 1992, in Stamford, Connecticut, to parents Dorothy Griffin (mother) and John Griffin (father). She has raised in the same city alongside her two younger sisters, Riley and Mackenzie.
- She attended Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford from 2006 to 2010.
- Cayleigh was very influenced by her upbringing in an athletic family: both her parents played Division I sports during college (her father played football, her mother played basketball) and one of her sisters was also a Division III basketball player.
- While she was growing up, Cayleigh played every sport she had access to but has had a lifelong love for basketball. She focused mainly on basketball and volleyball throughout high school. She was also a part of other activities such as – Vice president of the National Honor Society, Ambassadors Club member, Multi-Cultural Club, etc.
- In her last year at Trinity Catholic School, Cayleigh had an internship in the sports section of The Stamford Advocate. This internship made her decide to pursue sports broadcasting instead of becoming a college athlete.
- From 2010 to 2014, Griffin attended Providence College, a private Catholic university in Providence, Rhode Island. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and Humanistic Studies with a Minor in Film and Video.
- In 2013, she studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, through the Boston University Academic Centre.
- Cayleigh currently lives in Houston, Texas. In 2022, she announced her engagement to Jay Shunnar, the assistant basketball coach for Cleveland State. Jay, Griffin’s fiancé, played basketball at the University of Toledo and has had a notable career, including roles at Michigan and the Cleveland Cavaliers. On August 25, 2023, the couple got married.

Vanessa Richardson, a Houston sports media personality, replaced Cayleigh in this role.
- In her current role at Bally Sports Ohio, Cayleigh serves as the Host of Cavaliers Live Pre and Post-Game Shows. She joined the team in September 2022.
