- Catie Beck was born Catherine Elizabeth Beck in 1980 in Annapolis, Maryland, to parents Edward S. Beck Jr. (father) and Mary Victoria Beck (mother). Her parents later divorced, and Catie became very close to her mother’s (her mom now goes by Vicki Conroy) second husband, Paul Conroy.
- She has a younger brother, Thomas P Conroy, and a younger sister, Marguerite K Conroy Hodgkins.
- Catie was raised in Annapolis, Maryland, and attended Archbishop Spalding High School, a private Catholic school in Severn, Maryland. She finished high school in 1998.

- Since January 2017, Catie has been in her current role as a correspondent at NBC News. She is also a correspondent for MSNBC.

- Catie attended St Mary’s elementary school in Annapolis and refers to her childhood as an idyllic and peaceful one. Despite not living in Annapolis anymore, she still feels very connected to her hometown, and she remains very close to her family.
