Anqunette Jamison (nicknamed “Q”) was well-known for her role as an anchor at WJBK-TV Fox 2 Morning News. In November 2016, she retired from Fox 2 due to multiple sclerosis. Anqunette is originally from Gary, Indiana.

Anqunette graduated from the Butler University in Indianapolis in Radio-Television and Journalism in 1995.

The couple separated and later Anqunette married Richard Sarfoh whom she met on the online dating website Match. They just went on a lunch date, and soon got married in 2012.
She has 2 step sons – Aged 23 and 26 (ages as of 2023).

Early Career :

Anqunette debuted her career as a Morning Show Producer and General Assignment Reporter in West Lafayette after graduation.
A year later, she was employed at WNDU, an NBC affiliate station in South Bend as a reporter and weekend anchor. She was here until the year 2000.
Jamison then got transferred to report in KVBC-TV in Las Vegas and worked there for three years.

In 2003, she joined Fox 25 in Boston, where she assisted the launch of “Let It Rip” – a segment where reporters shared their opinions on controversial issues in the news.

Career Growth, Salary and Net Worth :

In 2008, Anqunette headed to Fox 2 Detroit as a Morning News Anchor after five years at Fox 25.

Q mainly produced stories relating to fashion, design, lifestyle and beauty trends for a segment called “Style File” for Fox 2.
On Mondays, she hosted “Living the Life” together with Deena Centofanti, Sherry Margolis and Monica Gayle to talk about everyday issues affecting women in Metro Detroit.
In 2013, Anqunette was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, causing her to suffer cognitive deficiencies and temporary muscular control losses.

She announced her retirement from her broadcasting career in November 2016 as she felt unfit to fulfill her role.
In November 2018, Anqunette opened ‘BotaniQ,’ a medical marijuana provisioning center in the city of Detroit. A couple of months later, the dispensary was robbed causing a few thousands worth of damage.
Since 2020, she is the Founder of a Health & Wellness called ‘Qulture’ and also a Board Member of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association.

Battle with Multiple Sclerosis :

Anqunette revealed that she was experiencing memory problems and numb limbs, and more seriously, she once fell face first in her kitchen.
She took a quiz in WebMD, which prompted her to consult a doctor. Q had an MRI scan and spinal tap, which led to the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2013.

Since retiring from broadcasting, Jamison became passionate about lowering costs for MS patients. Her cost estimate was $100,000 per annum, where $70,000 was spent on MS drugs and $30,000 spent on drugs for side effects.
Nonetheless, her symptoms did not recede, and at times she would be admitted to the hospital for extreme vomiting.
Anqunette was eventually introduced to marijuana, which she claims has helped quell her symptoms more effectively than conventional medicine. She went from using nine prescriptions a day to zero after making some dietary modifications and utilizing cannabis.

Ever since then, she has taken on a leadership role in the fight of legalizing marijuana use throughout the country.

Interesting Facts, Height and Trivia :

As an anchor, she only used to take around 8 minutes to finish grooming herself.
Jamison occasionally teaches spinning at her local health club.
A few years back, Q used to run marathons.

In 2018, she was part of Seen Magazine’s “8 Metro Detroit Women Making an Impact” list.
She owns 2 pet dogs named Chico and Zayka.
