Anoushah Rasta is an American newscaster and journalist for KNTV Channel 11, an NBC-owned network that serves San Jose and San Francisco Bay areas.
Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- A native from Southern California, Anoushah attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), from where she graduated with honors, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communications and Public policy.
- While in college, she was a video journalist for UCLA’s esteemed student media organization, The Daily Bruin.
- Anoushah was also a production intern for KTLA, one of the local TV news stations in Los Angeles. She covered weekly tapings for the Fox program, “So You Think You Can Dance?” and often interviewed contestants cut from the show.
- Besides English, Rasta speaks fluent French, Farsi and conversational Spanish.
- In August 2019, Anoushah got married to her ‘best friend’ in Los Angeles. She posted the news on Twitter (now called X), describing the night as magical and stating that she married her best friend. The wedding was attended by close friends and family, including her co-anchor Terry McSweeney. In early 2020, Anoushah delivered her first baby, her son named Darius.

- In 2011, Rasta started her career in broadcasting, working as a News Assistant, Apprentice, and Special Projects at KABC Television. While there, she had the opportunity to be on the production team for the 84th Academy Awards as well as the Screen Guild Awards in 2012.
- She then moved into a freelance role as a traffic producer as well as a reporter for Life and Style Weekly, where she interviewed celebrities like Betty White, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rachel McAdams, and Channing Tatum.
- Rasta clinched the multimedia reporter and weekend anchor spot at KTSM – NewsChannel 9, at El Paso Texas, holding the seat for two years, from 2012 – 2014.
- She then moved to KPRC in Houston, Texas, as an anchor and reporter. While with KRPC, Rasta covered some big stories – The 2015 Houston floods, the tragic movie theatre shooting in Lafayette, and Pope Francis’ visit to Mexico.
- In 2017, she ended her stint at KPRC after three years. An emotional Rasta said, “Houston has been great, this has been a phenomenal experience, but I really miss my family, and I want to be closer to them, you know it’s been tough.” She then joked she usually doesn’t get emotional and the team in the newsroom gave her a much-appreciated goodbye cake.
