Introduction :
- A British born journalist and TV reporter, Amanda Walker has a been a correspondent for Sky News since 2013.
- Amanda, an attractive reporter with a confident presentation style has a number of accolades to her name and is well-known internationally.
- Her career has taken her from East Yorkshire, England to countries like France, Russia & USA.
- She has covered the war in Libya as well as sporting events at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

Early Career :
- Amanda found her first job in the media working at the Hull Daily Mail, a local UK newspaper.

- She famously reported on the Pussy Riot trial & managed to gain an interview with Nadya Tolokonnikova when she was released after 18 months in jail.
- As a Russian Correspondent, she excelled by gaining an exclusive interview with Vladimir Putin himself after he won the 2012 elections. The interview was in English, which is extremely rare for the Russian president.
- Amanda also covered the lead up to the 2012 presidential elections and the post-election protests.
Moving to the USA :
- In January 2013, Amanda moved to Washington D.C. & became the Sky News US Correspondent.
- Since then she has reported on several controversial topics including the use of guns in chicago, abortion and the spread of heroin addiction in America.
- She has also covered breaking news stories such as Hurricane Sandy (2013), the Marathon Bombings in Boston (2013), the Pope’s first visit to the USA (2015) and various mass shootings.
- In the buildup to the 2016 US elections, she reported on the Presidential campaigns & has followed frequently the actions of President, Donald Trump.
Awards and Achievements :
- Amanda has received accolades from leading UK newspapers – The Independent and The Observer, for her coverage of the 7/7 London Bombings in 2005.
- Thereafter, she was awarded an International Film & Television Award for her report on gun crime titles “Chicago: Every Day Violence in US Murder Capital (2016).”
