Alexandra Nicole Biston was born in Los Angeles. She grew up in Thousand Oaks, the second-largest city in Ventura County, Southern California.
Alex attended Westlake High School in Thousand Oaks. She graduated in 2011. During her time there, she worked on her high school newspaper.
Following her graduation from high school, Alex went on to attend Chapman University, a private university located in Orange, California. She graduated from Dodge College of Film and Media Arts – Chapman University in 2015 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She also has a minor in Public Relations.

After graduating from Chapman University, Alex also studied at the Mississippi State University where she achieved a Certificate in Operational and Broadcast Meteorology.
Alex is currently in a relationship with Will Clark. Will also studied at Chapman University.

Alex knew in middle school that she would pursue broadcast journalism as a professional career.
During her college years, Alex was an intern at most of the TV stations in Los Angeles because she knew she wanted to work in Los Angeles.

After graduating from Chapman University, Alex started working for KTVZ, an NBC affiliate, in Bend, Oregon. During her time there, she was a reporter, anchor, and forecaster.
Following her stint in Central Oregon, Alex returned to California, where she started working for KEYT, a CBS and ABC affiliate in Santa Barbara. During her time at KEYT, she was the Ventura County bureau reporter, as well as a weather forecaster.
As of 2020, she is working for CBS 2, KCAL 9, and CBSN Los Angeles as a meteorologist. Having been raised in Southern California, Alex now works for a network she’s watched since she was a child!

Interesting Facts and Trivia :

Alex is very close to her mother, and they frequently travel the world together. Her mother gave her the nickname ‘Poppy’ when she was a child.
While working for KEYT, Alex was part of the team that went on to receive an Emmy award for their coverage of the 2018 Thomas Fire that ravaged Ventura County and Santa Barbara County.

Alex’s mother and grandmother joined her at the studio in April 2019 to watch her broadcast live. The same month, she appeared as a guest on ‘The Hangry Mexican’ podcast in April 2019. She was interviewed for it by Oscar Flores at The Cheesecake Factory in Santa Monica, California.
Her mother was born at the 7/11 convenience store and considered it a lucky event that instilled a positive outlook on her life. She then passed on that outlook to Alex.
Dallas Raines, the Chief Meteorologist for KABC-TV in Los Angeles, is one of her biggest inspirations.
