- Aldo is a native of Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico, but came to the United States at just two years old.
- He began his love of journalism when he joined the yearbook club in high school, and by his senior year was Editor-in-Chief.
- He got his first media exposure as he anchored the school’s televised morning announcements. He was the first in his family to learn English and also the first graduate from an American university.
- He considers himself an Arizonian, and attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
- While at ASU, he was an anchor for the news and sports reporter for their sports show.
- Aldo was a bilingual student reporter at the flagship PBS award-winning Cronkite News En Espanol. He has a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and a B.S. in Pre-Health and was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity.

- Vazquez worked for a while as a scribe for Banner Health physicians, assisting emergency department doctors to ensure proper documentation. It was a tedious and time-consuming task but helped him to hone his time management and interpersonal skills.
- As a senior student reporter, his team took top awards Nationally in sports, news, and hardline reporting in 2011. The Cronkite School took home 19 broadcast awards, more than twice any other school, as well as winning Best in Festival!
