Abbie Dewhurst is a British Weather Presenter who works for the BBC North network. Bubbly, smart and determined, Abby has had her sights set on presenting weather since she was a little girl and has worked very hard to gain a solid following in her industry.

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :

Abby was born and raised in Lincolnshire, making her a true Yellowbelly. She has spent most of her early life living in and around England. Her parents eventually moved to Philadelphia, USA, when Abbie was in her twenties, but she remained in the UK.
From 1997 to 2006, Dewhurst attended the St Martins Primary School. Later, from 2006 to 2012, she attended the King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford, Essex. She participated in activities like the Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Netball while studying there.
Abby prefers to keep a low profile when she is not working & shares little information about her personal and love life. She does, however, occasionally share pictures of get-togethers with her close friends on social media.

When Abbie was just 17 years old, she began her journey to becoming a presenter by writing weekly columns for The Telegraph, which ran an annual 3-month programme for young people in the Grimsby region.
When talking about the program in an interview with The Telegraph, Abbie stated how proud she was of the experience, so much so that she lists it as her first experience on her resume.

After working with The Telegraph, she moved on to various other freelance ventures that included, networking at Channel 4, presenting at a Lincolnshire community radio, running, scriptwriting and researching for East Coast Pictures as well as other freelance work for the likes of ITV and BBC Lincolnshire.
Five years after her stint with The Telegraph, Abby finally landed her “dream job” as a Weather presenter for BBC Look North. She used social media to share the good news with her friends and followers.
Abby is still currently presenting as part of the BBC Look North team.

Trivia and Charity Work :

In the years 2011 and 2012, Abby took part in the Social Action Programme that was run and supported by UK Youth in a bid to help young people develop writing skills and confidence.
She has also taken part in the annual London Marathon as part of the UK Youth team and was able to raise about £2000+ for the programme. Speaking about the programme, Abby said, As UK Youth has helped us to help tons more young people, I am determined to give something back and do whatever I can to help them.

Continuing with her passion for service, Abby has visited schools such as the Rooks Nest Academy to teach young kids about the weather as well as to answer some of the questions they have concerning weather and reporting.
During her free time, she loves to listen to music and play instruments, especially the drums.
She is part of a blog called GirlsTalkLondon Blog where she shares her story as a presenter and encourages other women to chase their dreams and not give up.

The Yorkshire region has it all for Abbie, who has always been enthralled by looking at houses! Whether it’s a small, cosy cottage or a grand, awe-inspiring home, Abbie loves wandering through the rural villages and admiring the homes people have built.
