Supriya Pathare, a Marathi actress, was born at Umarkhadi in Sandhurst Road, Mumbai. None of her family had any background in acting. Right from her school days, she was extremely active in theatre and also wrote a script when in the 7th standard. Her childhood was quite difficult…she worked as a housemaid, delivered milk bottles and did a lot of small low-paying tasks.
She was very attached to her father, who is unfortunately no more. Her dad encouraged her to always try and do something different, and not do a regular 9-5 job.
Tin Paishancha Tamasha was a play where many amateur actors tried their luck and Supriya used this opportunity to fine-tune her acting skills. Kickstarting her career with the Marathi Naatak Darling, Darling. She was also awarded Natya Darpan Puraskar for play.
She has played different role types, negative characters, loving motherly characters as well as comedy standup artist in Fu Bai Fu, which she won with Bhau Kadam in one year. She now lives in Thane, after she had shifted to Parel after marriage.
In 2014, Supriya said in an interview that when she was 20 years old, she was held captive by a Rajasthani producer and was rescued by Balasaheb Thackeray.
