Sagarika Ghatge was born in Kolhapur. Her hobbies include reading and travelling. Due to strict family background, she earlier rejected the offers to act in ad films despite her stunning good looks.

She was finally permitted to pursue a career in modelling and acting only after her education. Her family is also related to the royal family based in Indore.
