Though Mona Ambegaonkar is a multi-talented personality, most audiences know Mona for her role as a tough police officer in the 1999 Marathi movie Bindhaast. She is also a model, writer, producer and director, an actress who has collaborated with renowned groups like Ekjoot, Ansh, Fottsbarn Theatre Company, and German Ton Und Kirshen Theatre Company.
She has acted in over 15 plays, 20 movies, 40 TV shows and 50 AD campaigns to her name in a career of 15+ years.
Her debut occurred back in the 1980s when she met Jalal Agha for a DD show, Mr Ya Mrs. She was quickly hired as an assistant by him. She considers Agha a role model. Later, she assisted director Shekar Kapoor.
She also directs and acts sometimes in English theatre, she acted in Bharat Dabholkar’s English comedy play Got to be Aishwarya.

Mona lives in the Malad area of Mumbai.
She also has a young daughter named Diva, born in 2005. She was in the midst of financial troubles and did multiple jobs like writing for newspapers and the Chicken Soup Series, taking on dubbing assignments for National Geographic, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
