Personal Life :

Amruta Khanvilkar is one of the few actresses in the Marathi industry who has a great face, dances extremely well, and is also well accepted by the Hindi industry. Born in Pune to parents – Father Raju and Mother Gauri Khanvilkar, her childhood was spent in a middle-class family. Originally from Pune, but she has spent most of her adult life in Mumbai.

Initial Career :

The Zee TV show, Cine Star Ki Khoj, in 2004, was her entry point to the glamour world. She stood 3rd in that show. Later, she debuted with the role of twins Purva and Apurva in Golmaal movie in 2006. Sade made teen was her next big movie and she starred with Megastars Ashok Saraf, Makarand Anaspure and Bharat Jadhav in that one. Thereafter, she played several roles in a lot of good Marathi movies until 2010.

Turning point :

The turning point of her career came with the Lavani performance in movie Natrang for the song. The song was so popular she performed in over 500 stage shows till date. Most people now remember her for this song than most of her acting performances.

When she participated in the Zee Marathi show for dancers Eka Peksha Ek, she was given the second place. She broke down on the stage and condemned the result and the judges. Even the audience felt she was a better performer than the winner Bhargavi Chirmule.

With her acting career, she also hosted the show Maharashtracha Super Star, Bollywood Tonight and Comedy Express for some seasons. Later she also was a judge in the dancing show Maharashtrache Dancing SuperStar. Appearance in the music video < A Hip Hopper> was also appreciated.`

Hindi Work :

These days, Amruta balances her time between Hindi serials and Films and also does a few Marathi films in between. Few of her Hindi shows include TV Series and the series Time Bomb 9/11.

Due to her strong dancing abilities, she also won the Nach Baliye 7th season and made a guest appearance in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
