Akshaya Gurav is a Marathi actress, most popular for her roles on Marathi television.

Raised as a Mumbai girl, Akshaya’s family includes her parents. Her father works in Maharashtra police department, and her mother is a housewife. She also has two brothers, the elder of which is an Engineer, and the young one is pursuing studies. The family lives in Police colony. None in the family has a background in films or acting.

Initially, Gurav wanted to enter the corporate world, as she had studied management from Welingkar Institute. While she was doing modelling work, she tried for many Marathi serials but could not succeed due to her pronunciation problem, which she later worked on. Mendichya Panavar was her debut serial.

She loves to read, especially English love stories. Smita Patil and Mukta Barve are her favourite actresses, Dilip Prabhavalkar is her favourite actor. A big fan of travelling in Kokan, she also likes fish-based food.
