Personal Life :
Shivdeep Waman Lande, one of Maharashtra’s and India’s most popular decorated IPS officers was born in Aloka in Vidharba area of Maharashtra in 1976. As a child born into a farmer’s family, he travelled around 4 kms on foot daily to reach his school.
Education : Qualifications, High School & College Info
His education includes a BE (bachelors of electrical engineering) graduation. Though first selected for IRS (revenue service), he joined the IPS in 2006.
Despite not being on Facebook or other social media channels, there are many fake accounts running under his name. In one such case, a man duped a lady for Rs 51000 to contribute to the officer’s “social” work. The account was later frozen after a police investigation.
Role as Patna SP :
Patna had many protests when he was transferred as Patna SP in Bihar after serving for ten months. His honest, proactive and no-nonsense police work had made him a hit with the people. He cracked down on illegal constructions, cyber cafes and a host of other illicit activities.
Particularly, noteworthy were his crackdowns on girl harassers and eve-teasers, making him much loved amongst the female gender. He was also called as ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Singham,’ based on the popular super-policeman based movies released around that time.
Rohtak Land Mafia :
Later, in 2015 in the role of Rohtas SP, he had a narrow escape on his life when gang members of the local mining mafia opened fire on him. The officer had conducted many daring raids on the stone mills there to attack the illegal crush mills. There was further news that the alleged nexus between cops and stone mafia managed his transfer from them in August 2015.
Social work :
He donates a huge percentage of his salary to a Yuvak Sanghathan organization. The organization was founded while he was posted in the Indian Revenue Services in 2004.
Hobbies :
Exercising and dancing. A video of him performing at a cultural event went viral on YouTube.
