- Bushra Ansari is a versatile actor, singer, comedian and a writer known for receiving Pakistan’s highest civilian award called Pride of Performance. She has been working from her childhood since the 1960s.
- Bushra’s family included her parents – Father Ahmad Bashir and Mother Mehmooda Begum.
- Bushra is married to Iqbal Ansari and he is a producer by profession. The couple also has two children – daughters named Nariman Ansari (born in 1979) and Meera Ansari.
- She has also won various other awards for her performance on various TV shows aired in Pakistan. Leading Pakistani TV Networks such as Hum Television Networks and Pakistan Television have praised her performance and given her awards such as Lux style awards, Nigar Awards, Lifetime Achievement Award & Graduate Award.
Early Career and Professional Life :
- When Bushra was 10, she started singing in children’s program Kaliyon Ki Mala and on the radio. Her voice was melodious and people of Pakistan have given much love to her.
- She has acted in ‘Rishtay our Raastay’ which is a play held in 1978. She was afraid of her father as he was not fond of daughter’s desire to act. That play, however, raised her confidence in many ways.
- Later she acted in “Drama 86: Raat Gaye” which was a Pakistan TV telefilm. She also got the award as best actress in a serious role for that telefilm. After this, she never looked back and continued her journey as an actor, singer and writer.
- She has also judged Pakistan Idol which is a platform for singers to showcase their singing abilities.
Life Outside Acting :
- Bushra Ansari has worked with well-renowned writer Anwar Maqsood along with comic genius Mion Akhtar on ‘Showtime.’ She has hosted many TV shows as well. As a writer, she has written script for “Amawas.”
- She has also written a script for ”Neeli Dhoop” which was played in the year 1994. People have appreciated her skills as a writer. Many people were amazed to see her caliber in a different niche, other than acting. Bushra says she got inspired from her father Ahmad Bushra Ansari. He was an excellent writer and storyteller, she adds.
- In an interview, she said that she would like to do good for society. She desires a corruption free nation and would like to contribute to the campaign. She has always championed for Women Empowerment.
