- Katie’s first job as a reporter, took her to the doorstep of WCOJ-AM Radio in Thorndale Pennsylvania. Here Besides running the board and taking traffic reports, Katie also created a weekly radio show called Chester County Spotlight, in which she interviewed local personalities.
- Thereafter, from April 1998 to September 2002, Katie took up the role of Traffic Anchor for Shadow Traffic (Total Traffic, now).
- She multi-tasked, serving as traffic reporter for WNBC-TV, WLIR Radio, WKXW Radio, WRAT-FM, WRAT Radio and New Jersey 101.5.
- WNBC-TV received feature reports from Katie, too.
- She was with WCBS-TV and CBS 2, from October 2002 to September 2005, in the role of an Entertainment/Features Reporter.
- Her 2004 special feature, CBS 2 at the Tonys, received the New York Press Club Award for Best Entertainment Reporting.
