Nakul Ghanekar was born in Anushakti Nagar and later brought up in Thane. His father is a scientist and his mother, an education inspector.
He completed his education from Mumbai University with a Masters in BioChemistry.
His first role as a lead actor happened with the ETV Marathi serial ‘Ajunhi Chaand Raat Ahe.’ He was paired opposite actress Neha Gadre in this show. He replaced Atul Abhyankar in Jai Malhar for the role of Hegadi Pradhan, and his role has been well received.
Besides being an actor, Nakul is a trained dancer in Kathak and Salsa, and a choreographer as well. He runs the studio known as Different Strokes in Thane for the past 10 years & is one of the few institutions which teaches many genres of dance – Salsa, Kathak, Hip-Hop, Belly Dance, Bollywood, Bachata, Zumba, etc.
He is a big fan of actress Sridevi. His height is around 5 feet 8 inches.
